This is the situation almost every day in the Edsa. People are always in a rush just to arrive at their office to clock in. But the reality is, they spent too much time on the road and beat the traffic along Edsa and other service roads. This is the reality nowadays, especially since a lot of establishments open their offices for the return to office employees. On the other hand, the government allocated an exclusive bus lane for commuters when the road is congested with traffic. So that they will benefit and will minimize their time spent on the road. Alongside its well-known popularity, Manila is also considered to be the most congested area due to heavy traffic. Millions of public utility vehicles, private cars, busses, tricycles, and another mode of transportation occupy the road during rush hours. Many employees suffer toxicity as they encounter heavy traffic from morning till dawn. They left home early in the morning and keep up with the people just to be right on time in their offices. And leaves office right on time yet suffers from traffic congestion and long queue from public transportation vehicles.

  3. An increasing number of private vehicles This is one of the common mistakes of Filipino people in acquiring a private car is that they tend not to worry about parking their car's parking area. You can see most of the cars parked in the road gutters or in front of their houses which are set to be one of the main roads in the area.

  4. Lack of discipline People have no discipline when it comes to traffic rules and even street signs. They tend to do what they want even if they know they are already violating traffic rules.

  5. Centralization of the Economy Being the center of all the businesses and platforms that promotes growth and wellness, multinational companies are set forth for economic growth. People from the provinces choose to relocate to Manila to find their niche and luck in obtaining jobs.

  6. Flood Prone Area Manila is a flood-prone area when a typhoon hits the city. If proper waste disposal is not being observed, the city becomes worsen over time. Studies show that it is also caused by urban development.




What are the possible solutions to reduce traffic in Manila?

Better Manila Traffic Monitoring With effective techniques for monitoring traffic, authorities can easily plan out and tailor traffic policies for better mobility, while commercial companies can design roadways for their businesses better so that it will be easier for motorists to access their businesses without causing significant traffic congestion.

  4. Encourage Big Businesses to invest in the Countryside Putting up businesses in the countryside plays a big role in developing Manila's heavy traffic. In this way, people will be encouraged not to leave their respective provinces. Thinks of possible ways wherein they can still be able to work from home.

  5. Increase Salaries of workers in the Provinces Provide better salaries and wages for all the workers in the provinces. With this, they will never be obliged to transfer to Manila in order to get high-paying jobs.

  6. Alternative Arrangement and Reporting Instead of reporting every day in the office, companies must also take into consideration ways to lessen the reporting days of employees to their offices. A new normal setup must also be observed. In this way, we can lessen the traffic on the Metro.
